Cardinal Mail Google Account is suddenly disabled or unavailable

If you suddenly lose access to your Cardinal Mail email account, it could be because we were alerted by Google of a problem with your account. Google considers log in activity suspicious if they notice unusual behavior, such as logging in from a different location or excessive unauthorized attempts to log into your account. Google notifies us and we scramble the password in order to keep your data safe.

Resetting your password will usually restore access to your Cardinal Mail account: https://password.catholic.edu

In addition, please complete the following checklist to better secure your account and reduce the likelihood of us having to scramble your password again.

  1. Enroll in 2-Step Verification. The is the best way to protect your Cardinal Mail account.
  2. Follow all the Gmail security tips, including using the Security Checkup tool.
  3. Use a password manager app and don't use the same password on different services.
  4. Review your recovery phone number or email address to be sure it is current.
