When is Duo needed?

Duo is the two-factor authentication system used by the University for its certain systems and services. Two-factor authentication adds a second layer of security to your Cardinal account to help prevent anyone but you from logging into your account, even if they know your password.
 

Which services require Duo?

  • Cardinal Financials (all system users)
  • Cardinal Faculty and Staff (HR staff)
  • VPN access (certain profiles)
     

Additional details

Duo for Cardinal Financials is set up when a Cardinal Financials Access Request Form has been submitted and access provided. You will receive a Duo enrollment message in Cardinal Mail.

Duo for Cardinal Faculty and Staff is required for all HR staff. You will receive a Duo enrollment message in Cardinal Mail when you join HR.

Duo is required for certain VPN profiles. Your supervisor must request your be granted access to one of these profiles by submitting a ticket in email to techsupport@cua.edu. You will receive a Duo enrollment message in Cardinal Mail once access is granted.
